International Youth Foundation

International Youth Foundation (IYF) is a non-governmental organization registered in the United States. It was founded in 1990 and headquartered in Baltimore. So far, it has established partnerships with more than 160 youth organizations in more than 70 countries and regions. CYDF and the IYF started partnership in 1999. We have carried out close cooperation in international youth projects, non-profit organizational capacity building and exchanges. Twenty million yuan in donations have been received via IYF from Alcatel-Lucent, Danone, Visteon, Nokia, Tiger Woods Foundation, Microsoft, Harry Winston, Caterpillar, Hilton and other multinational companies and institutions. The projects that have been supported include the construction of Hope Primary School and its follow-up support, grant to youth projects, rural teacher training, youth life skills training, vocational education of children of migrant workers, disaster relief and so on.

At present, the cooperation between CYDF and IYF includes “Brilliant Future” project supported by Harry Winston and “Equip youth” Project supported by Caterpillar. These two projects introduced "Passport to Success" Life Skills Training courses to China and localized it according to the needs of BNVS to help the children of migrant workers acquire self-confidence and job opportunities.

“Brilliant Future” assisted “Passport to Success” Project by translating and editing its courses. These courses have been successfully piloted in BNVS of Beijing and Nanjing, and are about to be expanded to BNVS in Chengdu, Zhengzhou, Wuhan and so on. “Equip Youth Project” selected some courses from “Passport to success” according to the demands of students from electrician classes of various BNVS sites, and combined them with current courses to help students better handle challenges from study and growth.
